Last Friday I finally said good bye to my old office in front of the sea and welcomed my new one in the mountains. It might sounds nice but in another hand I’m switching from a 5 minutes walk to a 20 minutes ride. I’m in the 5th floor surrounded by windows so I get to see some sun when it’s here. The situation in Iceland is still very difficult. Everything is covered by uncertainty. In every day’s news a company goes bankrupt. People started to strike (finally). 2000 people walked from Hlemmur to Austurvöllur last Saturday.
I met a belgian bloke, the other day, who works for CCP. He explained to me his difficulties on planning his way out of Iceland. For some reason he resigned earlier this week and had no idea how he could get his money exchanged to euro. The central bank of Iceland has very strict rules for exchanging currencies. Basically you have to present a flight ticket and can only change a maximum of 50K ISK (350€) per day. That is so ridiculous but that’s the only way to avoid having the Króna crashing. Meanwhile it continues weakening by 3% a day.
I spent quite some time speaking to D and she’s really insisting on me to come visit her in Germany. The truth is, I would love to, I have some days off to take before the end of november but I’m pretty much victim of the current situation. As I said earlier, it’s almost impossible now to travel abroad at a half descent price. Icelandair, the only company standing, is rising its prices every day due to the plummeting of Iceland’s monopoly money.

Keep up the good work! I really love your blog. Full of insights and interesting comments.
Regards, Peter
