Yesterday looked like autumn, rain was pouring down all it can and the temperature hit almost the single digit. A new virus seems to travel in town and people are getting sick. I’m myself struggling with that crap with no other choice than reducing the running sessions. Today is however surprisingly warm. It’s still a little bit cloudy but as the weekend begins what a better time for dropping a tracklist. Enjoy !!
Marcos Salon, Belgian dance producer signed Vamp on the infamous R&S Records in 1991. The storming synth piano chords and the “3…2…1…zero” countdown made this track an instant classic with the growing rave scene in the early 90’s.
11 years after their last album, Portishead finally come out of nowhere. Machine Gun, the first release of their new album Third, is as expected gloriously dark. A menacing gun-shot sound repeatedly bangs throughout the entire song as Beth Gibbons’ jarring vocals weave through it.
Anna David’s huge hit Fuck Dig held first place in the charts in Denmark for twelve weeks. I’m really not aware of what’s going on there obviously but this one got to catch my ear. I must say that Sichelle’s version is so much better than this one but since it was in my playlist the whole winter…
I heard about Don rimini for quite a while since he had his show on my local radio back in 2004/5. Only recently have I taken notice of an upcoming electro tunes being dropped by Erol Alkan and remixed by Crookers. He’s just about to release his first original EP called "Kick ‘N Run" on the 21st July. Another track being played out at the moment by everyone is the Crookers remix of Let Me Back Up which is absolutly massive. The second track is also a remix of crookers of the monument ACDC - thundertruck.
Certainly my favourite band this days, I keep listening to all their remixes of whatever group they decide to re-edit. MSTRKRFT are simply magic! They are currently working on their follow up album that everyone seems to be anticipating at the moment. So to hold me and everyone else over for now I’ve put a remix of Metric called Monster hopsital.
I don’t really know how to introduce this one. I don’t know much about Patrice really. I just remember hearing his name years ago. But I guess I didn’t trust the person from whom I heard it because it’s not until last week that I gave it a try. Now of course I can imagine any random posh girls would listen to that but for some reason "Don’t cry" is earcatching to me.
