Last Friday I had a Mless party. I had a lot of fun for once. The host wanted something quite stylish: A sort of stereotype evening. This was certainly due to the many different nationalities invited. Rather than smiling at each other typical behaviour and attitude, they decided to emphasize it as much as possible by asking people to bring their nation stereotype. Unfortunately, we weren’t much. 8 to 10 max. But it was pleasant enough because there was at least 5 or 6 different nationalities represented. In a Mless party you can actually talk to people on your behalf and avoid having someone aswering/making the conversation for you :P. And that kind of party doesn’t happen often…
My "costume" was well accepted I guess. I wore a blue shirt under a sort of cardigan and a black jacket. I had a black scarf going under the shirt as an old gentleman would do back in the days. But my main assets was probably my two "baguettes" and my cane of "foie gras". People loved it ! The whole party looked a little bit like a costume party cause no one was wearing clothes alike. After a second thought we most probably looked ridiculous…
It was a first time I attended this themed party. If you have enough different nationalities around you and if people play the game, it’s the best way to break the ice.

Dear Mal,
Hope you are well. I just came across your blog. Great stuff! I am writing to you because my partner and I are launching a website that will be populated with cross-cultural information about every country in the world. We will be looking to the web community to help do this with all the information being available for free. I was wondering if you and/or members from your community may be able to help us out with the Iceland pages. We would love your input. Let me know if you would be open to this and I’ll send along a brief questionnaire. Please also feel free to check out the website, become a member (it’s free!) and add to the guide.
Here is a link to the site: http://www.culturecrossing.net/
Thank you for your time!
