Yet Another Study Case

Posted on Thursday 24 April 2008

Alex was my former girlfriend. We were together for 3 years. We became good friends after we broke up back in the days. Last time I’ve seen her was in december 2005. In my 2 weeks break in France between Finland and Iceland I did try to call her to have a cup of coffee or something. If I recall correctly 2 times. She, both time, promised me she’d give a call. She was obsviously busy. Too busy to grant me an hour. Whatever. I came back in Paris for Christmas (2006) and naturally gave her a call. Same shit: “I’ll call you like tomorrow? ok?“. No phone calls received. Not even a message. Worst, no excuses whatsoever. At this point I wasn’t really pissed to be honest but more in a What the fuck kind of mood. I said to myself: What the point of trying to see an old friend when she obviously don’t give a damn of you. Since then I haven’t heard from her. I did receive couples of msn text messages here and there. I always ignored them. Every 4, 5 months I received a message in MSN saying: “Hi, are you there?”. Along the days the messages started to be more and more insisting. Since tonight when I had a whole paragraph. She started that monologue, by telling me what she’s been up to. And how she didn’t understand the fact that I was ignoring her. She let me her phone number, and her email asking praying me to contact her.
I’m thinking. Shall I write something. I don’t really care about her anymore. People that treat you like a stranger for so many years while you’re trying to do your best to see them. Old friends that put you on the bottom of their todos list whereas you’re a week a year in the country where they live. Why should I bother acting like if I’m curious about what happened to her? (Well I actually am, but I’m really not dying to know…). Why should I bother writing what happened to me during all that time. It’s quite some work and I don’t feel like she should know about it. You wouldn’t write all what you’ve been up to the last 3 or 4 years to someone you’ve just met, would you? I feel the same.
