Leoparded

Posted on Saturday 24 November 2007

I‘ve upgraded my laptop earlier today to Leopard. It was a bit more of an hassle without the DVD but to be honest I’ve experienced way worst. Thinking about it, it was  almost easy peasy :)
I had the dmg file on my work laptop so I spend the evening of yesterday to transfer the 8gb file through the network. I probably busted the whole shared internet connexion but hey… I followed a series of steps totally hazardly

#I created an 8gb partition with bootcamp
#I rebooted windows XP a second time to change the NTFS file system to FAT32 so OSX could "see" and manipulate it
#I booted with tiger in order to reformat it to HFS
#I launched back tiger and used Disk utility to creat a bootable parition using the dmg I had
#I finally booted from it and installed Leopard

I have erased the 8gb partition now and I use it for time machine instead. I haven’t really gone throught the whole OS but so far I’m charmed. I don’t feel it slower or anything like that. God, It’s not even comparable with Vista.
