Sjáumst Ísland

Posted on Wednesday 5 September 2007

I have taken the hard decision to leave Reykjavik. Finally. Was it the right decision? I don’t know? I guess so. I’ve done all I could to stay there when I think about it. Apparently, either the timing wasn’t correct or my place was simply not there. I’d like to think the second option is the right one. In any case I’m leaving with no regret.

I took a flight to Stockholm and from Stockholm to Paris. That took me a day and as almost every time when you fly from Iceland, you find someone you know. In that case that was Antoine. A twisted mind French bloke that studied history in university. You know the plump rosy cheeks guy with long hair and colorful clothes that can’t help finishing everything he says with a joke that he’s the only one to understand… Yes, that was not really the best travel mate I could wish.

Despite the napping in both flight, I arrived exhausted in Paris. I was hoping to get a nice night sleep but that was before reading my emails. The women from the International Mobility sent me a 2-lines-junk-mail to stated that there was some issue with my contract. Adding to that, I had to wake up at 8.30 to take care of my nephew. Baby sitting surprises…
Now I realize I’m in a bloody dead end. I came back full of things in my head and stuff to do and I’m not even sure to get a proper contract to go away.
Now what? I’m waiting as if I haven’t waited long enough. Waiting until I receive a phone call from SA. Either Paris calls me, which mean they have an offer to make. Or Oslo and in that case it will probably mean to go and sod myself off.

I‘m also expecting a phone call tomorrow from someone interested in my profile for a similar job at Air Atlanta in Iceland. I think I’m seriously going to consider it since SA have showed some serious signs of unreliability.
