A night flight to Uranus

Posted on Tuesday 24 October 2006

Except the fact that I’ve turned half-deaf during the week-end, I had a good time. Iceland Airwaves festival was very enjoyable in many ways. I discovered some excellent bands that I’m sure are close to international recognition, and I experienced the worst gigs ever with bands that have nothing near a pinch of talent…

Friday was the worst. My friends and I had the great idea to go early to the national museum in order to be as close as possible to the scene. That sounded good until 22:30 half an hour before The Go! Team started playing. I felt minutes after minutes more compressed to my neighbors. More than that, I was surrounded by teenagers with their midnight permission to see their idols. But those teenagers weren’t the ones expected. They were all dead drunk. And I can tell you that drunk teenagers are the pain in the ass!! They shout, jump everywhere scream each single time the singer is looking at them etc…
