I thought it could be fun to share the music I’m currently having on my playlist. I’ve put 6 new tracks in the player under "My Music" so you can read and listen :). It’s basically what I like at the moment. I choose them between a wide area of style. So don’t expect to have only electronic music ! No !
Let’s start with Apparat Organ Quartet which is a 5 piece band: 4 organists and 1 drummer. They sometimes describe their music as Machine Rock and Roll" but the standard definition of their sound is "Organ Quartet Music", a completely new genre. They have been compared to such different acts as Kraftwerk, Wagner and Sigur Rós. I added "Stylophonia" from the Kitchen Motors Family album (their label). An untrainned ear will compare the music to a standart Gameboy sountrack. But let me say that the music is on a whole different level ! I’m completely in love.
Next is another track of the Kitchen Motors Family album. So it’s once again another Icelandic artist. The track is called "ammælisstrakur" from Frakkur (Jonsi, a member of Sigur Rós). Well it’s totally trip-hop, very slow and simpy excellent ! Warning: Don’t listen to that if your in a bad mood or depressed because this will definitly push you to cut your juguler.
In another kind. The last Nelly Furtado is a hit ! Althought I’m really not into the kind of music where you have 5 dudes covered of *bling bling* looking at 3 girls shaking their asses I loved "Maneater". I heard this song from a video clip called ‘Nicole in black’ I’m sure some of you guys know it (hrhrhr). Well this track is called "promiscuous girl" and it’s featuring Timbaland. I was betting my b… sorry my money that she said "Mystery girl" but apparently not. I was obviously unconsciencly more poetic than that.
Now my favourite track of the whole 21st century (yes ! not that version though). It’s Freeform five with "no more conversation". I’ve put the Richard X remix. I can’t really say why I love so much that song but the fact is I know the lyrics by heart since the first time I heard it ! The Mylo remix has been a huge hit 2 years ago and Dj’s are still playing it regularly to drive the crowd crazy. I don’t know much about the band itself but I think they’re more into some more classical rock. So I put the credits to the remixers.
The last two songs I added are the last band I’ve discovered lately. They’re simply great. It’s a sort of big soup of a whole bunch of instruments (even an harmonica). We can’t really classified them into rock because of the omniprecense of trumpets and harmonicas but it’s totally festive. The fun, energetic collage of danceable, mainly instrumental music on this debut disc is amazing. The band is called the Go! Team and the two tracks are "Junior kickstart" and "Panter Dash". I had to conclude with the lyrics of the song you should keep singing under the shower !
I Fix a point upon the ceiling Nothing to do how can I make my escape The sudden shock, a hidden feeling No room to breathe feels like I’m locked into this space Coz who’s got all the solutions? 180 revolutions Where I turn it depends Where I fall in the answer No more conversations on my own Walking one straight line, nowhere to go Revealing all my secrets on my own The feeling’s going down, now can’t let go Don’t wanna live it like I’m dreaming The lies are water all the decisions are fake I’ve given up on hopes of leaving A broken bridge on every choice that I make Coz who’s got all the solutions? 180 revolutions Where I turn it depends Where I fall in the end No more conversations on my own Walking one straight line, nowhere to go Revealing all my secrets on my own The feeling’s going down, now can let go No more room to No more room to breathe I close my eyes to I close my eyes to see.

to my mind more people should do this kind of music sharing. I’m pretty lazy trying to find new music and this is a great way. even if there’s nothing that is really “you”, you always learn something and can brag about it later…
I agree and If you’re not listenning to radio (and it’s a good thing in my opinion) then you must have some other ways that bring you down to the disc shop. Listenned a song in a friend place, heard of the band name a little bit to much, or advices from someone. Then when you finally put the finger in some tunes you really like, you just have to spread the word ! If everybody do that, you’ll get constantly advices from everywhere :D
Anyhow, my little brain activity makes me think that although you agree with that Siina, you didn’t like much of the music I’ve put in here :D :D :D :D
< < even if there’s nothing that is really “you” >> How a gently way to express things !
Have you considered applying for a diplomatic degree ?
hehe, I’m just teasing you ;)
