Best Hot Chocolate in Town !

Posted on Friday 15 September 2006

Yes ! You’ve read it correctly. I discovered the best hot chocolate you could ever found in Reyjavik and even in Iceland. If my memories are correct (a whole new test would be more accurate though) and if we admit that I have a considerable experience of hot choclates around the world then I can easily say that I’ve tasted the best hot cholotate of the planet Earth. I’ve been told since a while now that the Holt hotel had an amazing hot chocolate. And as an invistigator I decided to try it after work. Hotel Holt is a small intimate first class hotel situated on a quiet street, within 5 minutes walking distance from the heart of Reykjavik. Holt Hotel offers a refined combination of comfortable elegance and fastidious efficiency. The hot chocolate is served in a small cup with a pot, a Chantilly cream and ‘really’ few sweets amuse-bouches. It’s basically a drink that has nothing in common with others since the concentration of chocolate is such intense that you don’t really chug it. But more appreciate each sips before reaching a point (probably the fourth sip) that could be compared to an orgasm. Now of course I was a bit desapointed by the very few liquid in the pot but then I understood how nauseous it can be after a few. Finally I would like to point an important aspect of that moment of pleasure: the price. Please take a chair, hang on tight. the price of that delight is around 7€.
